UW School of Social Work Endowed Associate Professor in Prevention Margaret Kuklinski has been appointed to a National Academies committee to develop a blueprint for a national prevention infrastructure for behavioral health disorders. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine provide independent, objective advice to inform policy with evidence, spark progress and innovation, and confront challenging issues for the benefit of society.

Kuklinski, who also directs the School’s Social Develop Research Group, is one of 12 experts appointed to the committee, which will identify best practices, funding needs, prevention strategies and research gaps; and make actionable recommendations, including policy development at the state and federal level.
