Please extend a warm welcome to Alyssa Camp who joins the School of Social Work on December 18 as the director of research operations. Alyssa will work closely with the Office of the Dean and the Office of Faculty Excellence & Research to strengthen our research infrastructure.
Alyssa is passionate about the role of funding and policy development in support of social justice initiatives. She has a robust history in grant and contract management, including roles in higher education, state and federal government, and nonprofit organizations. Alyssa holds a BA from Portland State University.
Alyssa comes to the School from the UW School of Pharmacy, where she served as a grants and contracts manager since April 2020. Alyssa’s new position along with the future addition of a new grants manager is designed to provide enhanced support for our business and research operations.
The Office of the Dean would also like to extend a well-deserved thank you to Tasha Murphy who has provided support for faculty grant-proposal development and submission for the past 18 month. Tasha will continue in her research role at the School’s Behavioral Medicine Research Group, provide pre-award support to researchers, edit the Offer newsletter, and work closely with Alyssa to ensure that all researchers are adequately supported when they seek external funding.
