Beginning Sept. 1, Larry Wright will serve as the assistant dean of innovation management at the School of Social Work. He will work alongside Associate Dean Ben DeHaan and Dean Michael Spencer to support the financial sustainability and systems impact of the School’s research and innovation centers. He will also assist the dean’s office with strategic planning and special projects.     

Larry joined the School in 2019 as a valued leader of the School’s Forefront Suicide Prevention center; he will continue part-time as Forefront’s director, working with Deputy Director Emma Mallonee.     

Larry brings more than 20 years of experience to his new role. Before joining the School of Social Work, he was CEO of MENTOR/The National Mentoring Partnership in Washington, D.C.  He also served as the chief operating officer of the College Success Foundation, assisting first-generation college students find success in and out of the classroom. Larry received his PhD in mass communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is an adjunct faculty member in Seattle University’s Institute for Public Service.
